Rheumatic fever (RF) is a multisystemic inflammatory disease, which appears in 7-15 years old children. It is distinguished by arthritis, myocarditis, chorea, subcutaneous nodules, and periferial erythema. The diagnosis of RF is based on clinical symptoms, because there is no specific diagnostic tests. The diagnosis RF is based on the criteria of Jones modified in 1992 by American Heart Association (AHA). In this article we described four cases of children hospitalized in the Institute of Rheumatology in Warsaw between the years 2005-2007. These children fulfilled the criteria of the disease, they were treated following the therapy standards of RF, and they are still in charge of the Institute of Rheumatology.
