Dear Friends,

The summer holidays are over, so for the world of science it is time to return to hard work. The “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques” editorial team is working with double strength because our indexation increased once again in June. This time our IF was calculated at 1.7, which is the highest value in the history of our magazine, and it’s all thanks to the papers that you submit for publication, the level of which is getting higher every year. We cordially encourage you to continue such cooperation.
Competition in the surgical journal world is growing. This year, a new list of IF magazines was published, containing most of the currently publishing titles. But not all announced IF parameters are of the same value. Pay attention to metrics labelled SCIE Edition because they reflect the full impact to date.
In order not to disappoint you in providing points that mark your scientific career, we try to publish more and more methodologically advanced and diverse articles. This issue (3/2023) is proof of that. In it you will find not only classic surgical titles, but as many as four works in the field of minimally invasive thoracic surgery. There are also extremely interesting topics in the field of perisurgical issues, i.e. anaesthesiology. The issue begins with the second part of the recommendations on the use of laparoscopy in emergency surgery issued by the Association of Polish Surgeons, and, as in every quarter, a meta-analysis – this time dealing with the problem of diagnostics of pulmonary nodules prior to thoracoscopic surgery. I encourage you to read our proposals.
For the upcoming new academic year, I wish all our readers career achievements and new ideas for scientific papers to be published in “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques”.

Kind regards
Prof. Jacek Szeliga
