To evaluate the reliability and validity of the Polish version of the Arthritis Impact Measurement Scales (AIMS-2) in Polish patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The reliability of the Polish questionnaire was assessed by internal consistency of health-status scales. Construct validity was assessed by factor analysis and convergent validity by correlation coefficients with disease activity variables and duration of disease. Internal consistency was 0.79-0.89. Factor analysis identified three factors: physical, psychological and social. There were correlations between the Polish AIMS-2 health status scales and disease activity variables and duration of disease. The Polish AIMS-2 questionnaire is a reliable and valid instrument for measuring health status in Polish patients with RA.
