The presented paper expresses opinion on establishing contradiction for allergen immunotherapy based on the latest EAACI guidelines. Clinical indications for allergen immunotherapy in respiratory and Hymenoptera venom allergy are well established; however, clinical contraindications to allergen immunotherapy are not always well documented. An extensive review of the literature was performed on the use of allergen immunotherapy in different clinical conditions. The evidence for the evaluation as contraindications varied from randomized controlled trial to case studies of limited value. The final decision on the use of allergen immunotherapy should be made by allergist based on individual evaluation of any medical condition and a risk/benefit assessment for each patient.
