Treatment of wounds in diabetic patients: indications for primary care physicians

Primary care physicians in their practice very often have to take decisions on the management of different skin changes, among them acute and chronic wounds. The treatment of wounds in diabetes is unique and differs from treatment of wounds in other patients. The article demonstrates major rules to be followed in a patient with diabetes in the case of wounds, particularly with a diabetic foot.
