Various mental problems are present in at least every one of three primary care patients. Depression is the most common condition in this respect. The paper presents psychological obstacles that may account for not disclosing depression in primary care and for initializing pharmacological treatment of this disorder in such clinical setting. An attempt to develop the tool for guiding the contact with patient during a visit for primary care professionals is proposed with the aim to help them in their professional skills in treatment of depression.
