Osteopontin (OPN) is a multifunctional protein which is highly expressed in bone. OPN is also expressed by various tissues and many cell types like macrophages, chondrocytes, epithelial cells, endothelial cells and smooth muscle. Osteopontin is involved in many biological processes, equal physiological as well as pathological, in multiple diverse tissues and organs. This protein participates in biomineralization, inflammation, leukocyte activation, migration and adhesion many type of cells. Osteopontin is an important factor, which can present due to abilities in development osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
