Azithromycin and its hydrates – comparison

The article discusses the characteristics of azithromycin and its metabolic function. Azithromycin belonging to macrolides II generation demonstrates a wide spectrum of activity, showing activity to Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterias. Its action involves binding to ribosomes resulting in inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis.
