Dexlansoprazole – a new drug in general practice
Online publish date: 2017/07/17
Proton pump inhibitors are commonly used in everyday clinical practice. Dexlansoprazole is a new-generation proton pump inhibitor with unique structure and pharmacokinetics. The dual-delayed-release system of dexlansoprazole prolongs inhibition of proton pump activity in parietal cells of the stomach. It can be dosed without regard to food intake or time of day. In the current paper data on the efficacy and safety of dexlansoprazole are presented, with emphasis on its utility in everyday clinical practice.
