Dear Colleagues,

The third issue of the Journal of Contemporary Brachytherapy consist of two parts: the first contains manuscripts and the second – materials from upcoming Nucletron Central Europe Users Meeting (A Toolkit for Good Medical Practice in Brachytherapy) which will be held in Budapest, Hungary, 15-17 October 2009.
Seven manuscripts are published in this issue – two concerning prostate cancer, two physics contributions, one article concerning cervix cancer, breast cancer and one case report of anal melanoma. Presented articles enclose results of clinical researches as well as physicists papers. In the fourth issue of our magazine we are planning to initiate a Pictorial Essay which is a presentation of selected clinical cases for the purpose of exchanging clinical experiences as well as doctors and students training. The main coordinator of this initiative will be Dr Alfredo Polo.
Every paper has been carefully reviewed, however we are perfectly aware that some mistakes could be found. We are happy that more and more of our colleagues agrees to review and to publish their papers in our Journal. We understand that the transitory period without a magazine indexing does not facilitate an author decision to send an article for publication, so the more we are pleased to see a growing interest of the authors.
For the first time we are publishing materials from a convention which will be held in Budapest, Hungary. We are open for a cooperation with any scientific society, a research team or a company which patronize a scientific meetings. You are most welcome to cooperate. Publishing of articles does not mean in any matter a company preference.
I believe that with the great support of the members of the Editorial Board and our new readers the coming 2010 year will bring success to our Journal. I trust, that our constant effort to improve the scientific level of published articles will be noticed by the authors. Editorial Board will constantly work to improve the quality of the manuscripts printed in the Journal to meet the authors and readers expectations.

Sincerely yours,
Editor-in-Chief
Janusz Skowronek, MD, PhD, Ass. Prof.
