Official Journal of the Polish Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons

Wiadomość o śmierci prof. Mariana Zembali przyjąłem z niedowierzaniem
i głębokim smutkiem.

It is with disbelief and great sadness that I received the news about the death of Professor Marian Zembala, an exceptional man, an outstanding surgeon, organiser and scientist, who inspired many of us to do things that seemed to be beyond us. Many cardiac surgeons and the Polish medicine owe him a lot as he was always its advocate all over the world by participating actively in numerous scientific meetings and symposiums. He also created and was a long-term Editor-in-Chief of the Polish Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. Even after he resigned as the Editor he was still interested in the journal and supported me and the entire editorial staff with his optimism and enthusiasm contributing to the journal development. We will always do our best not to let our Honorary Editor down. It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to Marian.
