When it comes to chronic wounds, local treatment should proceed pursuant to experts’ guidelines and be based on scientific research. Currently, the recommendation is to proceed with a local treatment in accordance with the TIME strategy, making use of all possibilities, with the aim of optimising the healing process. New methods of healing have appeared on the market. The aim of this text is to review selected methods of wound healing. Among others discussed were: Lucilia sericata biosurgery, negative pressure wound therapy, ultrasonic-assisted wound debridement, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, ozone therapy, and high-voltage stimulation.
