Limiting the number of population was not a central aim of our antecessors, on contrary-only fertility could guarantee the success for tribes and countries. Despite of this, in specific circumstances contraception was an expected need. Poor understanding of human fertility resulted in the development and use of several ”broad-spectrum” methods of contraception in human history, most of them are named and described.
