Online publish date: 2019/03/20
Single-pill combination therapy is the future of antihypertensive treatment. Doctors have more and more practical experience in their use and are witnessing the implementation of new, complex preparations appearing on the pharmaceutical market, which improve cooperation with the patient, facilitate treatment, and gradually increase the proportion of people with properly controlled blood pressure. The present paper discusses the role of a single-pill combination of two (valsartan and amlodipine) or three (valsartan, amlodipine, and hydrochlorothiazide) antihypertensive drugs, in light of the latest ESC/ESH 2018 guidelines.
