Use of butyric acid in bowel diseases

Butyric acid, thanks to its properties, is becoming a popular supplement with a wide spectrum of activity. It is a natural substance produced in our intestines. It is characterized by a wide and beneficial effect on the intestines: trophic, anti-inflammatory, maintaining the integrity of the intestinal barrier. The indications for the use of butyrate are numerous, it works well in both inflammatory bowel diseases and functional diseases, diarrhea, constipation, diverticular disease of the large intestine, radiation proctitis or after resection procedures. In supplementation, it is important to choose the right preparations, those that reach the highest concentration in the intestine and do not contain harmful additives, such as titanium dioxide.
