Whipple’s disease is an infectious systemic illness. The symptoms (arthralgias, weight loss, diarrhoea and abdominal pain) are not specific, which causes diagnostic difficulties. Despite the illness being well known for over a hundred years there are only about 1000 cases described in the literature. We report a patient with Whipple’s disease with a review of recent diagnostic and therapeutic strategy.
