PlumX metrics:
Gallstone ileus is rare condition, accounts for 1.4-6% of all obstructing ileus. It complicates 0.4-1.5% of all cases of cholelithiasis. Symptoms of gallstone obstruction are vague, usually mimic biliary colic. Authors present two cases of patient with gallstone ileus first diagnosed for nonspecific symptoms in alimentary tract. Both patients were operated. In the first case enterolithotomy alone was made. The postoperative course was uneventful. In the second case definitive procedure of cholecystectomy and fistula closure along with enterolithotomy was made. A month later abscess in the site of removed gallbladder was conservative treated with good result.
