Intussusception is a very rare cause of ileus in adult patients. Below, the authors present four cases of patients with intussusception, hospitalized in the Department of Digestive Tract Diseases and Department of Surgery, Medical University of Lodz between 2005 and 2009. The authors discuss the diagnosis and treatment of intussusception and present a short review of the literature.
