The study presents a case of a 11-year-old girl with chronic pancreatitis and ulcerative colitis. An isolated thrombosis of the splenic vein in the course of the disease leding to the portal hypertension was observed. Due to this thrombosis portal hypertension appeared, which led to the development of varices in the fundus of stomach. Spontaneous recanalization of the splenic vein, without necessity of surgery, occured. Eighteen-months observation was not revealed varices of the esophagus. The girl still remains secondary medical care and control of the clinic.
