The main goal of this study is a review of current concepts in diagnosis of pancreatic tumours before surgery and also an evaluation of its progression. Computed tomography is still the gold standard in pancreatic tumour diagnosis. Improvement in endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) and magnetic resonance imaging enables more precise qualification to pancreas operations. Virtual reconstruction of spiral computed tomography gives new data on the neoplastic process in the pancreas.
