Helicobacter pylori is a bacteria widespread in the world and one of the most often human pathogen. In last years a relationship is described between H. pylori infection and diseases localized beyond the gastrointestinal tract in children and youth, in it anemia caused by iron deficiency. Iron deficiency anemia may be sole symptom or accompany other symptoms from or beyond the gastrointestinal tract. There are polish and English publications describing cases of anemia caused by iron deficiency in children and youth as the only sign of H. pylori infection, whom the eradication of bacteria was associated with receding of anemia.
