Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are one of the most commonly prescribed drugs in medical practice. Their selection must take into account the pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic profile, pain localization and the characteristics of the treated patient. A significant population of patients with pain requiring NSAID use are most often patients with multiple diseases, and therefore often taking other drugs in addition to NSAIDs, which may both modify the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of NSAIDs and may affect the risk of complications.
