Ectopic pancreatic tissue in children – present knowledge

Ectopic pancreas is a rare condition of the gastrointestinal tract with unknown aetiology, usually asymptomatic. The risk of malignancy, bleeding and occlusion are the most serious complications. The present knowledge about ectopic pancreas based on the literature is described.
